• Use standard hung metal suspension system for ceiling.
• Use hanger wires, hanger inserts or other hanger devices on the slab soffit to install hanger rod.
• No more than 1 in 6 hanger wires should hang out of plumb without a counter sloping or horizontal bracing wire.
• Hangers should not touch or press against ductwork or piping.
• Main grid line/main T-runner should be installed starting from the centre with the cross T member on the centre at a gap of 1200mm.
• Before installing the panels during installation, check the alignment and elevation.
• Start installing panels partially, at intermittent location while keeping an eye on elevation and alignment. Along with, place 25mm thick insulation as well.
• Install panels according to elevation required and without apparent visual angular displacement of members longitudinally.
• Keep the final assembly horizontal, with a flat planar surface and with no more than 3M deviation in either direction.
• There should be enough spacing provided by assembly devices to keep the final horizontal gap between intersecting panels under 510mm.
• After fixture load installation, runners supporting lighting fixtures or ceiling vents shall not rotate more than 2º.

Estidama – It means ‘sustainability’ in Arabic. It seeks to transform Abu Dhabi into a  model for sustainable urbanisation through creation of sustainable communities, cities and global enterprises. It does so by balancing the four pillars of Estidama – environmental, economic, cultural and social. 

LEED – An acronym for “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design”, it is an independent, third party rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). It provides building designers and owners a standard for measuring the degree of environmental performance of buildings. LEED buildings have dozens of environmental features as a must before certification that correspond to a point system.

A maximum of 64 points can be attained on the LEED scale, in 5 broad categories covering global and local environmental issues.

5 more points can be gotten for Innovation and Design Strategies outside of the 5 categories.

There are 4 levels of achievement –

• A minimum of 26-32 points is needed to become LEED “Certified”
• A minimum of 33-38 points for “Silver”
• 39-51 for “Gold”
• 52-69 for “Platinum”

Environmental Assessment Consortium – It defines and performs Assessments and Certification to UK, European and International Standards through set categories. It was created by a multidisciplinary group of experts to overcome industry reservations on Modern Methods of Construction (MMC).
